In tried to install OpenNi with your manual. But for me it just seems to be half working. I can run the NiViewer.exe in the Release Folder, all other examples don't work. The console starts, waits and then just closes.

All examples in the debug folder, also the NiViewer, don't work. I'm getting a Side-by-Side-Configuration Error. Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

I actually had two little problems:

first you need to install OpenNI binaries and then install the drivers (do steps 1 and 2 the other way around). Maybe this is due to newer versions?

second the demos were not working because the system variables could not be found. i went to the system variables as described in the troubleshooting section and instead of changing the OPEN_NI_BIN value, i needed to change the OPEN_NI_INSTALL_PATH form "C:\Programming\Kinnect\OpenNI\" to "C:\Programming\Kinnect\OpenNI".

Maybe this can help some people. ;)

I guess most of the problems come from installing the wrong kinect driver.

Did you download avis2 and went from root folder to bin folder and installed the kinectsensor driver?

I dont think so!
